At the invitation of Prof. Shuaizhang Feng, Dean of the Institute for Economic and Social Research, Prof. Lochner delivered a virtual lecture entitled Earnings Dynamics and Intergenerational Transmission of Skill at IESR on 14 April.
Prof. Lance Lochner is currently Professor of Economics and Canada Research Chair in Human Capital and Inequality at the University of Western Ontario. He is also Director of Western’s Centre for Human Capital and Productivity and serves as co-coordinator of the Markets Network, an international research network devoted to studying issues central to financing human capital investment. He is an editor at the Journal of Labor Economics, associate editor at the Review of Economics and Dynamics.
Prof. Lochner shared with audience his co-authored paper on intergenerational transmission of skills that tries to understand the intergenerational correlation in skills or earnings, the variation in skill growth over the lifecycle and its regional differences.
After the presentation, Prof. Lochner had exchanges with IESR faculty and audience and answered questions raised by the participants.
