Prof. Xin Meng, professor of Australian National University, was invited by IESR to give a lecture on “Rural-Urban Migration in China – based on RUMiC data” on 23rd March, 2016. The causes of the formation of migrant workers and Chinese labor market problems have been discussed in the lecture. Prof. Meng then briefly introduced Rural-Urban Migration in China (RUMiC) project and presented methods of sampling design. Since 2017, the RUMiC project will be held by the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) independently.
