2023年12月28-29日，2023 暨南大学-新加坡管理大学城市与区域经济学论坛于暨南大学成功举办。本次论坛由暨南大学经济与社会研究院（IESR）与新加坡管理大学经济学院联合举办，论坛邀请南加州大学Matthew E. Kahn教授、康奈尔大学Eleonora Patacchini教授、哥伦比亚大学Stijn Van Nieuwerburgh教授及威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校Christopher D. Timmins教授进行四场主旨演讲，吸引了来自康奈尔大学、新加坡国立大学、新加坡管理大学、南洋理工大学、香港中文大学、香港科技大学、香港理工大学、清华大学、北京大学、中国人民大学、厦门大学、复旦大学、武汉大学、上海交通大学、西南财经大学、暨南大学等境内外高校的50余名学者的广泛参与。

开幕
12月28日上午，论坛进行开幕式，开幕式由IESR副教授刘诗濛主持。IESR院长冯帅章教授、威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校邓永恒教授分别进行了致辞。
刘诗濛副教授
冯帅章教授代表IESR对所有参会学者的到来表示热烈欢迎。他首先向与会学者介绍了IESR的成立背景与研究领域，他指出IESR成立以来就致力于推动学术交流、促进学术合作。自2021年开始，IESR与新加坡管理大学经济学院联合举办城市与区域经济学论坛，至今已是第三届，期待通过此次论坛，汇聚各方智慧，共同探讨城市与区域发展面临的挑战和机遇，为促进可持续、包容、创新的发展贡献一份力量。最后，他衷心感谢威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校邓永恒教授对于此次论坛的大力支持，并预祝会议圆满成功。
冯帅章教授
邓永恒教授在致辞中对IESR提供的平台及为筹备本次论坛做的大量工作表示衷心的感谢，并对参与此次论坛的各位学者的到来表示热烈的欢迎。邓永恒教授表示此次论坛投稿质量很高，涵盖诸多主题，包括但不限于城市化与区域发展、区域经济政策、创新与科技驱动、城市规划与可持续发展等方面。他衷心祝愿本次论坛取得圆满成功，希望在这两天的交流中，参会者能够充分分享和借鉴彼此的智慧，为城市与区域经济学领域的发展开辟更广阔的道路。
