主讲人简介:

Richard J. Arnott received his Ph.D. from Yale in 1975. He was on the faculty at Queen’s University, Canada from 1975 to 1988 and at Boston College from 1988 to 2007. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Riverside.

Throughout his career Richard has offered generously his time in serving economics and regional science. He has been on over twenty editorial boards and has been the editor of two major journals: Regional Science and Urban Economics (2003-2007), and Advances in Urban and Regional Economics(1996-2005).

While he has published in several areas of microeconomic theory, Professor Arnott is primarily an urban economic theorist, starting with his early work on optimal city size and form, land use, housing, taxation and public goods, in both static and dynamic contexts. A good portion of his research blends theory with econometric analysis. He has published over 100 journal articles, with a number of top 5 journal publications in economics. His Google citation is more than 15,000.

Throughout his distinguished career Richard Arnott has received numerous honours and awards, including the Harry Johnson Prize from the Canadian Economics Association. He is a Fellow of the Regional Science Association International. For his distinguished scholarly work and outstanding contributions, the North American Regional Science Council presents Richard Arnott the Isard Award.
