2026 IESR Econometrics Workshop Successfully Held

On July 29, 2026, the Center for Econometrics and Microdata Practice (CEMP) at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR), Jinan University, hosted the 2026 IESR Econometrics Workshop. Scholars from leading institutions, including Johns Hopkins University, Peking University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Jinan University, gathered to share their latest research findings and exchange academic insights. Participants engaged in extensive discussions on key methodological, theoretical, and applied issues in econometrics.


Workshop Participants


At the beginning of the workshop, Professor Shuaizhang Feng, Dean of IESR, delivered the welcome speech. He extended his warmest welcome to all invited participants and expressed his hope that they would take full advantage of the workshop to exchange ideas and gain new academic insights.


He noted that econometrics has long been one of the Institute’s core research areas and a major focus of its academic development. High-quality academic events in econometrics, he emphasized, provide scholars with a productive environment for intellectual exchange and access to valuable academic resources.


Professor Feng also expressed his sincere appreciation to Professor Yingyao Hu of Johns Hopkins University for his active involvement and generous support in organizing the workshop. He concluded his remarks by wishing the event every success.


Welcome Speech by Professor Shuaizhang Feng


In the presentation session, seven scholars presented their latest research.


Yingyao Hu from Johns Hopkins University presented a paper titled “Identification of Multivariate Measurement Error Models.”



Haitian Xie from Peking University presented a paper titled “Generative Learning of Partially Identified Treatment Effects.”



Jizhou Liu from Peking University presented a paper titled “Randomization Tests for Bipartite Experiments.”



Zizhong Yan from Jinan University presented a paper titled “Non-credible Signalling in the Age of AI Crowds: Evidence from Incentivized Resume Studies And Audit Studies.



Zixin Yang from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics presented a paper titled Uniform Inference on Quantile Effects under Network Interference.



Chao Yang from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics presented a paper titled Multidimensional Asset Networks and Momentum Spillover Effects: An Application to Chinese Stock Market.



Shiyun Cao from Jinan University presented a paper titled Accounting for Multilayer and Multivariate Social Interactions in Schools: Identification and Estimation of a Multilayer Network Interactions Model.



The event ended with insightful discussions and received positive feedback from all the participants. The successful hosting of this workshop laid a solid foundation for further exchanges and cooperation between IESR and scholars from home and abroad.
