About the speaker:

Dr Han Hong has been a Professor of Economics in Stanford University since 2007. He received his Bachelor degree from Lingnan College, ZhongshanUniversity in 1993 majoring in International Trade. After obtaining his PhD degree in Economics from Stanford University in 1998, he taught as anassistant professor in Princeton University until 2003, and as an associateprofessor and a professor in Duke University between 2003 and 2007. Hisresearch interests focus on econometrics, industrial organization, and appliedmicroeconomic analysis. He has published in top economics and econometricsjournals on a wide range of research topics. In 2009 he was elected to be amember of the Econometric Society, an internationally recognized organizationfor economists and econometricians.  Professor Hong has alsovisited and taught in Renmin University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Chicago, and the Catholic Universite de Louvain in Belgium. He has served as a co-editor of the Journal of Econometrics between 2011 and 2018, a flagship journal for econometrics research.
