How to get to Guangzhou?
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the main transport hubs and provides excellent connections to major cities throughout the world. There is easy transport by taxi from the airport to the workshop hotels and Jinan University.
For those of you flying to Hong Kong and then transfering to Guangzhou, below are three ways to get to Guangzhou from Hong Kong:
By Bus
You can take a cross boarder coach from HK airport directly to Guangzhou. You can choose to get off at a stop near the conference hotel (Vanburgh Hotel, or Jinan University). The trip takes 3 hours by bus.
By Train
You can take the airport express from HK airport to Hongham Station or Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. Then, you should take a train from Hongham to Guangzhou East Station, or from Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station to Guangzhou South Station. This may take 2.5 hours in total.
By Air
You can also fly to Guangzhou from HK airport.
How to get to the workshop venue from the Baiyun Airport/ Train station?
The workshop will be held in Vanburgh hotel.
By Taxi
The most convenient way is to take a taxi to the hotel. It takes about 45 mins by taxi from the airport to the hotel, 45mins from the Guangzhou South Station and 20 mins from the Guangzhou East Station.
By Metro and Bus
You can take Metro Line 3 from the aiport to Tiyuxi Road Station(体育西路站), then transfer to bus No. 137 or No. 140 to Shipaicun Station(石牌村站).
How to get to Jinan University from the hotels?
Vanburgh Hotel, Huaweida Hotel, Lucky Holiday Hotel and Hampton by Hilton Hotel are situated within easy walking distance to Jinan University.
To get to Jinan University from Vanburgh Hotel, please cross Huangpu Avenue first, then walk along the Avenue eastwards for about 10 minutes and you will arrive at the South Gate of the University.
To get to Jinan University from Huaweida Hotel, Lucky Holiday Hotel and Hampton by Hilton Hotel, walk along Huangpu Avenue eastwards for about 10 minutes and you will arrive at the South Gate of the University.
How to get a Chinese visa?
You will mostly likely need a visa to mainland China if you are not a Chinese citizen. For participants who need a visa in order to attend the workshop, please follow general regulations for travelling to China that are available at Chinese embassy websites. Please note that a formal letter of invitation will be required from IESR at Jinan University. Requests for a letter of invitation should be addressed to Xiangyan Qiu .
