Overview

The Center for Econometrics and Microdata Practice (CEMP) of IESR at Jinan University is organizing the Second IESR Econometrics Camp on Zoom this summer from August 10 to August 14, 2020.

The topic of this virtual econometrics summer camp is “Panel Data Econometrics and Its Applications”. We are very pleased to invite prominent professors, Manuel Arellano (CEMFI), Stéphane Bonhomme (University of Chicago) and Áureo de Paula (UCL) to deliver lectures and hold office hours in the camp. We will also host a one-day econometric workshop for junior researchers to present their econometric papers. During the camp, CEMP faculty will also run the LIVE round table discussions. As a complement to the lectures, our faculty will be having the LIVE one-to-one interaction with student participants regarding the lecture contents and the panel data.

Our last IESR Econometrics Camp was held in December 2019 in Guangzhou China focusing on the econometrics of machine learning, social network and unobservables. Invited speakers include Whitney Newey, Bryan Graham, and Yingyao Hu.

Please kindly note that the camp is carried out online. The lectures are delivered in the afternoon and evening of Beijing time, which makes it possible for people in other time zones to participate in. Our flexible registration fee scheme also allows to choose among the topics that one is interested in, and to partially participate in the camp. The camp will be fully conducted in English.
