About the speaker:

Donald R. Davis is the Ragnar Nurkse Professor of Economics at Columbia University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley and his PhD in Economics at Columbia. He previously held the positions of Assistant and Associate Professor of Economics at Harvard University before returning to Columbia. His research ranges over international trade, economic geography, economic development, and urban and regional economics. He has served on the editorial boards of the American Economic Review, the Journal of International Economics, and the Journal of Urban Economics. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a past President of the Urban Economics Association.
